The San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to present the2020 Bloomberg Business Program.  This program has completed its 8th year since its inception began 9 years ago by Dr. Yvonne Katz, Superintendent (ret.), and Dr. David Vequist, professor at UIW. 


This six-part series is conducted by doctoral and professional level facilitators discussing timely topics found in the Bloomberg Businessweek magazine, offered at a discount to SAWCC members If you are not a member, review our membership levels by clicking on our membership or corporate membership tabs to receive a discount and additional member benefits.


Major business topics will be pursued with the goal of focusing on Leadership and Personal/Professional development.  Business acumen, strategies and trends will be discussed using real life examples from the periodical, as well as from issues being faced by participants.  Participants are expected to attend all sessions; read Bloomberg Weekly magazine articles, in addition to any other homework assignments, prior to each session; and, be prepared to discuss during the session. 


Networking with others and participating in a safe environment, sharing workplace situations and professional dreams are additional benefits of the program.  Participants will also receive first-hand knowledge from expert speakers from the San Antonio business community.  Expert speakers invited to the 2020 sessions are as follows:

  • Dr. Yvonne Katz, Chair - Alamo Colleges District Board of Trustees
  • Dr. Tom Cleary, Vice Chancellor- IT Assessment - Alamo Colleges District
  • Sara Helmy - Founder - Tribu Creative Marketing
  • Betty Burke - Consultant - City Council/Commissions
  • Sheryl Sculley - Senior Consultant - Former City Manager

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • Networking and lunch begin at 10:45 am.
  • The six sessions will begin at 11:00 am and commence at 1:30 pm.
  • Cost for the entire series is $225 for members and $275 for non-members, and must
     be paid by the first session on April 21st.
  • This year, our accommodations are being provided by the DoubleTree

     by Hilton Hotel Downtown SA, 502 W César E Chávez Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78207.

  • A pre-program survey must be completed before the first session. The link will be
      included in the confirmation email that is received after you complete registration.

All will be held on Tuesdays, and, are as follows:

  •  April 21, 2020
  •  May 19, 2020
  •  June 23, 2020
  • July 21, 2020
  •  August 25, 2020
  •  September 22, 2020 (GRADUATION)

GRADUATION

A graduation certificate will be given to those who complete the program.  Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded through the University of the Incarnate Word at the conclusion of the program, for those that qualify.


LUNCH


Participants will be provided a light lunch, which is included in the enrollment fees.  Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch.  This will not reduce the fee, and participants will be asked to select a lunch option during monthly registration in order assist reducing waste.
